The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive administrative professional to provide high-level confidential support within a busy Mental Health service. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive executive and administrative assistance, including diary management, meeting coordination, preparation of agendas and minutes, correspondence management, records administration, and a range of other administrative activities that support efficient service operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective communication and the consistent application of administrative policies and procedures across the service. In addition, the position provides guidance and support to Mental Health administrative staff, including assisting with orientation, training, and supervision as required.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective and professional administrative support, in confidence and with discretion within a busy and complex office environment.
  2. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to problem solve and use professional judgement.
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications including Content Manager, Outlook, Word, Excel and rostering, recruitment and procurement systems.
  4. Proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement processes for administrative services and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  5. Experience in preparing minutes and agendas with the ability to take minutes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with changing priorities and demands, work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Demonstrated strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks whilst under sustained pressure and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
