Nepean Hospital is seeking compassionate Registered Midwives to join our Postnatal Ward team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, supportive maternity service providing high-quality care to women, babies and their families during the postnatal period.
As a Registered Midwife in the Postnatal Ward, you will play a vital role in supporting women as they transition to parenthood while ensuring the health and wellbeing of both mother and newborn through evidence-based, family-centred care.
Your role as the Registered Midwife provides comprehensive postnatal care, education and support to women and newborns following birth. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will assist families to develop confidence in caring for their newborn while promoting positive health outcomes and breastfeeding success. This role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse maternity service caring for women with varying clinical and social needs.
You will be a caring and motivated Midwife who is passionate about supporting women and families, bring excellent communication, interpersonal and family education skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skills in Midwifery.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing/midwifery care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated effective communication written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit or team requirements.
