This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, compassionate and motivated clinical psychologist to be permanently appointed to our Supportive Care role. You will have the opportunity to contribute clinical expertise and provide evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention services to patients within the last 12-24 months of life known to the St George Hospital Supportive Care Service. The Role
The Clinical Psychologist will have responsibility for providing evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention services to people living within SESLHD who have end of life and palliative care needs in the last 12-24 months of life, and are known to the Supportive Care Service (SCS) at St George Hospital (SGH).
Within this role, there will be a requirement to undertake clinical reviews across clinic, community and virtual care settings, either alone or in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team member. This role will also focus on building the capability of inpatient clinicians by supporting them to identify unmet palliative care and end-of-life needs, promoting early referrals to specialist palliative care services, and acting as a conduit for communication between the ward-based clinicians and the palliative care multidisciplinary team (MDT). You will need to have a drivers licence to undertake this role.
In addition to the above, there will be opportunities to lead education and research across the site and to undertake strategic planning activities.

Selection Criteria
- Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent Master or doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of psychological assessment and intervention with clients experiencing significant illness and/or end of life care.
- Capacity to design and implement short and medium term, individual and group treatment protocols for a range of psychological issues
- Demonstrate high level written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills.
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a health setting.
- Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and research.
- Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes and evidence of a current Class C driver's licence.
