Create your best future and join Westpac as an Executive Manager, Financial Crime - Governance, Risk and Advisory

What's the role?

You'll be stepping into a pivotal leadership role, guiding a high-performing team that's laser-focused on protecting Westpac and its customers from financial crime. You'll be a trusted advisor to the business on financial crime risk with a view to addressing these risks in product, channel design and target markets. Based in Sydney and working full-time, you'll be part of the first line of defence, leading the charge in identifying, assessing, and solving financial crime risks across the division.

You'll be shaping strategy, influencing change, and embedding a culture of integrity and accountability. You'll work across products, channels, and teams to uplift capability, strengthen controls, and ensure we're compliant. From regulatory transformation to data-driven insights, you'll be at the centre of it all, partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders to build a safer, smarter financial ecosystem.

You thrive in a multi-segment, complex product environment that is fast paced and requires you and your team to provide effective advice and guidance across multiple initiatives simultaneously. You are truly committed to the outcome and see your role as facilitating that not just advising.

What do I need?

We're looking for someone who brings deep expertise, sharp thinking, and a collaborative spirit. You'll need:

  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a team of risk professionals.
  • Proven capability in financial crime risk management, including regulatory change, control uplift and strategic planning.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders across diverse business units, influencing outcomes and driving alignment.
  • A data-savvy mindset with the ability to interpret insights, assess materiality, and inform priorities.
  • A passion for building capability, embedding frameworks, and driving transformation across complex environments.
