The Opportunity Melbourne, Wurrundjeri Country Full Time, Permanent role Flexible hybrid environment - minimum 2 days per week in the office $120K + super + salary packaging As a Work Health and Safety Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, partnering across the organisation to embed a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture. You will play a key role in influencing decision-making, improving systems and practices, and supporting leaders and frontline teams to effectively manage risks and respond to incidents. In this role, you'll regularly engage with teams across sites, support risk assessments, lead investigations, and deliver practical, people-centred safety solutions that make a real difference. Key Responsibilities WHS Strategy & Compliance Support and continuously improve the WHS management system and prevention-focused strategy Ensure compliance with Victorian OHS legislation and regulatory requirements Monitor performance and provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making Risk Management & Prevention Identify and assess workplace risks and implement effective mitigation strategies Lead proactive initiatives (e.g. ergonomics, wellbeing, occupational violence prevention) Provide expert advice on emerging and systemic risks Incident & Injury Management Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Support regulatory responses, including WorkSafe matters Partner on return-to-work and recovery outcomes Coaching & Capability Building Coach leaders to strengthen safety leadership and accountability Deliver WHS training and build capability across the organisation Support Health and Safety Representatives to be effective in their roles Stakeholder Engagement Partner with leaders, HR and external stakeholders to embed WHS in operations Represent the organisation in relevant external forums and networks About You You are a confident and collaborative WHS professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys partnering with leaders to drive meaningful change. You will have: Bachelor's degree qualification in Human Resources, Business Management, OHS/WHS or related field. Demonstrated experience in WHS within large, complex and/or multi-site organisations Strong working knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and regulatory frameworks Proven capability in incident investigation, risk management, and implementing corrective actions Experience influencing and coaching leaders to build positive safety culture and accountability Exposure to occupational violence, psychosocial risk, or community services settings (highly regarded) Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills Our Benefits 17.5% leave loading to make your time off more rewarding Additional salary packaging available for meals/accommodation.
