About The Role:
As a Test Analyst at Victoria University, you will play a critical role in validating application changes and technology initiatives through structured testing activities across the full software development lifecycle. Reporting to the Lead Test Manager, you will collaborate with business and technical teams to design, execute, and report on testing outcomes, ensuring solutions meet business needs, technical standards, and quality assurance frameworks. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects and operational teams, contributing to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks and QA processes within a leading educational institution.

Position Key Duties:

  • Analyse business, functional, and technical requirements to define test scope, risks, and dependencies.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, approaches, and schedules aligned with project goals and VU QA standards.
  • Design, maintain, and execute test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Perform hands-on testing across enterprise applications, APIs, interfaces, and web services to ensure robust test coverage.
  • Manage defects through tools like JIRA, participate in triage sessions, and support root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Maintain detailed test documentation and provide regular status updates and formal reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate actively in Agile delivery ceremonies to identify and mitigate delivery risks and enhance team performance.
  • Uphold compliance with university policies including occupational health and safety, information security, and risk management.

Classification: HEP 7
Salary: $101,288 - $109,639 - Plus 17% Super
Employment Type: Full Time - 2 Year Fixed Term
Hours per Week: 36.75/1 FTE
Location: Footscray Park Campus - 3 days on-site

About You:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in test analysis, planning, and execution within complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in student management systems and student administration processes.
  • Proficient in using test management tools (e.g., TestRail) and defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design tests even with limited documentation.
  • Experience in integration testing, including APIs and web services, and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful workplace behaviours.
