Product Development Technologist

We're looking for a hands-on Product Development Technologist to join our R&D team and play a key role in delivering new and improved dairy products. Based in either Derrimut or Colac and reporting to our Product Development Manager, this role is responsible for developing, trialling and optimising products from concept through to commercial launch, working closely with cross-functional teams across the business.
What's the Scoop?
- Develop and formulate new dairy products and ingredients
- Conduct lab, pilot and production-scale trials
- Manage technical aspects of NPD projects from concept to launch
- Ensure all NPD is in line with FSANZ & other regulatory requirements.
- Support the Stage & Gate process to ensure on-time, compliant delivery
- Evaluate raw materials, processes and finished products
- Prepare recipes, specifications and product documentation
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Sales and Procurement teams
- Provide technical support across the business
What You'll Bring:
- Degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology or similar
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in product development (preferably dairy)
- Ability to travel to the different operational and sales sites within Victoria (primarily Derrimut, Colac, Mulgrave & Dandenong).
- Strong knowledge of product development processes (Stage & Gate)
- Understanding of flavour and stabiliser systems
- Ability to taste & appraise dairy products
- Broad knowledge of Food and Dairy Technology
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver outcomes
- Passion for food quality, safety and continuous improvement
