About the role

This position is responsible forcontributing to the Rates Team, providing a customer focused rates and revenue service to both internal and external clients by ensuring that the rates and revenue administrative functions are carried out in an effective and efficient manner.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver customer-focused rates administration by processing all requests accurately, on time, and in line with Council procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain and update rates data and transactions including changes (e.g. address, ownership), certificates, rebates, adjustments, refunds, and reporting from the rates system.
  • Administer rates policies and compliance such as pensioner rebates, rate categories, exemptions, lot aggregations, and waste charge adjustments.
  • Manage financial processing and recovery including EFT reconciliations, payment reviews, and debt recovery for outstanding rates and charges.
  • Provide support, advice, and communication to internal and external stakeholders, respond to enquiries, and contribute to team goals and continuous improvement.

We are offering a full time term contract for up to 1 July 2027, with a competitive remuneration package from $87, 851.88 to $96, 771.28 plus 12% superannuation.

About you

The successful candidate is someone who has:

  • 3 years experience in a local government rates and revenue environment.
  • Sound working knowledge and understanding of issues associated with local government rates and revenue.
  • Well-Developed customer service skills.
  • Well - Developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Certificate in business related field, or Certificate qualification in bookkeeping
