Location: Perth CBD, with ad hoc site visits.
Roster: 5/2 (Monday to Friday)
Business Unit: Resources & Energy West
Duration: Fixed-term until end of October 2027.
About the Role
UGL is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to provide strategic leadership across our Resources & Energy West portfolio. Reporting to the HSE Operations Manager - Resources & Energy West, you will work closely with operational and project leaders to drive Critical Risk Management, operational assurance, organisational learning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Critical Risk Management programs, including critical control verification and assurance activities.
Partner with operational leaders to integrate HSE performance into business planning and project execution.
Provide strategic HSE advice across multiple projects and operational environments.
Develop, implement and monitor HSE systems, standards and initiatives.
Lead incident investigations, learning teams, risk assessments and assurance activities.
Analyse leading and lagging indicators to identify emerging risk trends.
Manage contractor assurance and client interface requirements.
Support engagement with regulators, clients and industry stakeholders.
Coach and mentor HSE professionals and operational leaders.
Promote contemporary Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) principles.
About You
Demonstrated senior HSE leadership experience within mining, resources, energy, construction or maintenance services.
Tertiary qualification in WHS, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
Strong understanding of Critical Risk Management, risk assessment and assurance frameworks.
Experience with ICAM, TapRooT, ICMM Critical Controls or equivalent methodologies.
Knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and environmental obligations.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
Lead Auditor, ICAM Lead Investigator or equivalent qualifications highly regarded.
