As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and coordinate engineering activities to ensure the timely delivery of critical engineering outcomes across assigned Navy platforms. You will be responsible for managing engineering resources, driving problem resolution processes, engaging with key Defence stakeholders, and ensuring engineering deliverables align with project schedules and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage engineering resources to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes across allocated Navy platforms. Develop and execute engineering plans to support platform-specific project requirements and delivery milestones. Manage and facilitate Defence engineering governance processes, including Requests for Problem Resolution (RPR) and AD514 engineering activities. Work collaboratively with Ship Class SPOs, Installation Managers, Principal Engineers, and other Defence stakeholders to achieve project objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key organisations including CASG, ISSC, NIWB and platform engineering teams. Identify, assess and manage engineering risks, issues and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare engineering documentation, reports, briefings and presentations to support project governance and decision-making. Ensure engineering approvals are achieved in alignment with deployment schedules and Defence requirements. Essential Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification. Proven experience as an Engineering Manager delivering complex Defence projects. Strong experience working within Defence environments, including Military, APS or Defence contractor organisations. Demonstrated experience working with Ship Class SPOs and ISSCs. Strong understanding of Defence Capability Lifecycle management and project delivery frameworks. Experience delivering Defence Maritime programs and capability outcomes for the Royal Australian Navy. Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills. Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in complex project environments. Desirable Experience Master of Systems Engineering, Engineering Science or similar postgraduate qualification. Broad knowledge of Royal Australian Navy ship classes and platform environments. Experience with AD514 Naval Engineering processes. Previous experience supporting SEA2273 programs or similar Defence capability projects. Ability to obtain Technical Authority (TA) Level 2 delegation, or equivalent under the Defence ICT Technical Assurance Framework.
