An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, committed and customer service–focused Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Townsend Park. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys actively contributing to day-to-day maintenance while leading from the front.

Nestled in the serene coastal suburb of Hove, Townsend Park is more than just a retirement village – it’s a vibrant, welcoming community where residents feel truly at home.

Your work will support our inviting communal areas and well-kept homes – all just a short stroll from Brighton Beach and the lively café culture of Jetty Road. Whether it’s keeping the barbecue spaces in top shape for social gatherings or simply helping residents feel safe and supported in their homes, your contribution will make a real difference every day.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties by undertaking reactive and preventative maintenance activities and providing excellent customer service to our residents. We are seeking a proactive individual with strong communication skills, strong computer skills and a knack for problem-solving. You will support our close-knit team on a full-time basis. No weekend work!

Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include;

  • Coordinating and completing maintenance tasks, repairs, and routine inspections across residential properties
  • Delivering general maintenance support, including minor repairs, installations, and troubleshooting
  • Managing building assets, including assessing isolation valves for servicing requirements, isolating water and safely shutting down systems when needed
  • Coordinating monthly checks of emergency system and emergency lightings
  • Ensuring full compliance with EHS procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and contractors
  • Responding to resident maintenance requests promptly, professionally and with clear communication
  • Liaising with external contractors to ensure all work orders are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and updating internal systems and databases
  • Assisting with various ad hoc tasks and operational needs as directed by the Village Manager

Who You Are

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Be organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Have an excellent understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job
  • Demonstrated trade skills, with strong emphasis on hands-on experience highly regarded
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Be computer literate e.g. intermediate/basic knowledge with using Excel, Word, Outlook apps
  • Have the ability to take initiative and be pro-active
  • Have the ability to work individually and in a team
  • Hold a current Australian driver’s licence

Relevant internal training and inductions will be provided to the successful candidate on-site.
