What you'll be doing

The Trust Accountant is responsible for providing support to the Corporate Trust Accounting team using technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills to maintain compliance with NSW Ministry of Health policies. This role supports the management of Rights of Private Practice (RoPP) and TESL arrangements for NSWHP, and provide analysis of private revenue for RoPP.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards qualifications in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline and/or demonstrated work experience
  2. Detailed understanding of GST requirements, as well as an understanding of Rights of Private Practice RoPP arrangements for NSW Health staff specialists
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills including proven ability to clearly articulate complex information to staff with limited understanding of underlying issues
  4. Demonstrated ability to build, develop and sustain positive partnerships and productive working relationships with all levels of staff both internal and external.
  5. Demonstrated skills in creating, maintaining and publishing documents, using the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, and Excel , with the ability to use the tools in Excel to import and transform large volumes of data to a format suitable for analysing financial results.
  6. Proven strong problem solving ability in terms of understanding how to resolve day to day issues, and where required, who to contact or advise in order to gain assistance to ensure the issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  7. Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines, organise and prioritise high-volume workloads so that customer expectations are met, as well as experience working within a highly regulated workplace.
