About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Nursing Unit Manager Level 2 to provide clinical, operational and professional leadership within HITH/RAC/PIXI unit at Wagga Base Hospital.
As the Nursing Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and evidence-based patient care while fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting staff development. You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage resources effectively, drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with professional, organisational and legislative requirements.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care and coordinate multidisciplinary services to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Manage the operational, workforce, financial and physical resources of the unit to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through leadership, coaching, mentoring, recruitment and staff development.
  • Drive quality improvement, accreditation, change management and evidence-based practice while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies.

About You:
To be successful in this position you will:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage services and deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing workforce, financial and operational resources.
  • The ability to lead change, inspire teams and foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing nursing staff to achieve their full potential.
  • A commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and evidence-based practice.
