Job Impact This is a broad, commercially focused in-house role supporting a complex, regulated business operating at scale. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Legal, People & Culture, Finance, Operations and Technology to provide pragmatic, riskbased legal advice that enables commercial decision-making and supports organisational growth. The role offers exposure across a diverse portfolio including commercial contracting, employment and industrial relations, regulatory compliance, privacy, governance and dispute resolution, with the opportunity to contribute to the continued evolution of Certis' legal frameworks and operating model. Operating as a trusted advisor you will be balancing technical legal expertise with commercial acumen and stakeholder influence. About the Role Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Legal, you will be responsible for: Commercial & Contracting Advising on and negotiating commercial contracts, tenders and master services agreements Supporting major bids and ensuring appropriate risk allocation and mitigation strategies Providing commercially pragmatic advice to enable business outcomes while protecting legal position Employment, IR & Workplace Matters Advising on employment law, industrial relations and enterprise bargaining Supporting People & Culture on complex workforce matters, disputes and investigations Providing guidance on compliance with Australian workplace legislation Disputes & Regulatory Managing litigation and disputes, including engagement with external counsel Advising on regulatory obligations, including privacy and compliance frameworks Supporting investigations, including whistleblower and conduct matters Governance & Legal Operations Supporting Board reporting and corporate governance frameworks Maintaining and improving legal templates, registers and processes Contributing to the development of legal capability across the business including through training Supporting legal operations, systems and continuous improvement initiatives Stakeholder Environment This role partners extensively with: Executive Leadership Team People & Culture Operations and Commercial teams Finance and Transformation External legal advisers and regulators About You You will be a commercially minded lawyer who is comfortable operating in a dynamic, operational business environment. Experience & Qualifications Admitted to practice in Australia with a current practising certificate Approximately 4-8 years PQE Strong experience in: Commercial contracting Employment law / industrial relations Legal risk management Solid understanding of Australian corporate, commercial and regulatory frameworks Capabilities Ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice in complex and time-sensitive situations Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at senior level High level of ownership, judgement and accountability Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills In-house experience is highly regarded, but not essential.
