About the role
We have an opportunity for a Director to lead our Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED) within the Police Prosecution & Licensing Enforcement Command (PPLEC). The role provides strategic leadership and direction in implementing effective and transparent regulatory requirements and processes to ensure risk based compliance and rigor in the regulation of the security and other relevant industries susceptible to criminal penetration, in accordance with relevant legislation. The role is responsible for influencing industry conduct and ensuring continuous improvement in industry regulation, legislative compliance, industry training, probity assessment services and service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. The role also ensures efficient customer-focused services are delivered.
The Director, Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED), provides strategic leadership and oversight in the delivery of robust, transparent and intelligence-led regulatory frameworks. The role drives the effective administration of risk-based compliance programs, ensuring rigorous regulation of the security industry and other sectors vulnerable to criminal infiltration, in line with legislative and policy requirements.
This senior executive position is accountable for shaping industry behaviour through strong regulatory influence, promoting continuous improvement in compliance outcomes, and enhancing standards across licensing, enforcement, industry training and probity assessment services. The Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, customer-centred services while maintaining strong governance, stakeholder engagement and operational excellence across both internal and external environments.
Leading a dynamic and diverse workforce, the Director plays a critical role in supporting broader NSW Police Force priorities and strengthening public confidence in regulatory integrity. The position is based at Sydney Olympic Park, offering convenient access to public transport, secure on-site parking, and proximity to retail and recreational facilities. This role includes an all inclusive Total Remuneration package of between $208,400 and $279,171.00 including Superannuation. It will be will by way of a temporary assignment under Section 33 of the Police Act.
