We are looking forApprentices - Mechanical (Fitter and Turner),tojoin Rio Tinto's Operations in Gladstone -YarwunRefinery and Boyne Smelters, where you will work across a variety of areas and gain exceptional knowledge and skills.These roles are scheduled to commence in 2027.
These roles area great opportunityforhands on,self-starters who are looking tocommencetheir career in heavy industry. You will be:
Learninganddevelopingtrade knowledge across plant maintenance, machinery,processesand site systems
Working towards completing an apprenticeship in conjunction with a nationallyrecognisedtraining plan through internal and external training (i.e.TAFE).
Working as part of a team to ensure safe,continuousand environmentally responsible operations.
Gaining hands-on experience alongside qualified tradespeople, supported by dedicated onsite mentors

A genuine desire to learn and develop a broad range of new skills, with a proactive and self-motivated attitude
Strong work ethic with a commitment to health,safetyand environmental practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clear verbal and written communication skills
Applicants must meet the specific site eligibility criteria:
Have the right to work in Australia.
Hold a current C class drivers' licence with a minimum of red 'P' plates
Successfully completed Year 12 in 2024or 2025(or expected to complete in 2026) with a minimum grade B in Essential Math and grade C in English.
All apprenticeships require apass mark in Englishwith ability to read and understand English.
