Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital Operating Theatres

What you'll be doing
Theatre inventory management is crucial to theatre operations. Without adequate stock management, surgeries could be cancelled and emergency surgeries unable to proceed. A tension exists between having the appropriate types and volumes of stock on the shelves and good inventory management practices of minimising stock on shelf volumes and just in time ordering. A new electronic theatre inventory management system has been implemented to assist with this tension to ensure both clinical and management stakeholder needs are met. The purpose of the theatre inventory manager position is to manage the theatre stockrooms with leading inventory management principles, manage and maintain the hTrak system, other inventory related systems and staff and contribute to the running of theatre operations.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Extensive recent experience in an acute hospital or health related industry working within a related field.
  2. Related tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated experience in Inventory management including stock level control, stock take, reporting and inventory system management.
  3. Demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills including the ability to effectively engage clinicians, negotiate change, and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of risk management, continuous improvement and clinical practice improvement
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office suite of products including advanced excel skills and database methodology and analysis skills.
