What's the role?
This position provides general HR advice and coaching for employees and leaders across Westpac. As a trusted advisor and coach, this role provides ongoing advice, support, guidance and coaching on people matters including policies, people matters, and HR calendar activities.
This position also provides advice and coaching to people leaders on more complex people matters and performance management. This role is responsible for building people leader capability through coaching, as well as supporting and guiding leaders and employees on the use of HR tools and services. The role is critical in identifying trends and escalating more complex matters to specialist People teams within the People job family.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide policy advice, guidance on workplace policies and agreements, and leadership coaching via phone and via digital channels for Westpac employees and people leaders
- A trusted Advisor and Coach to people leaders to provide tailored support on complex matters, both individual and team wide, and including absenteeism, working arrangements, performance, organisational change and Health, Safety & Wellbeing matters
- Escalates people matters where appropriate to specialist People teams within the job family, whilst ensuring the employee is treated with care and has a seamless service experience
- Support business leaders and employees through HR calendar events e.g. Remuneration Review
- Liaise with People Centre of Excellences (COEs) and People Services as required to advise on solutions and resolve queries directly with leaders and/or employees
- Creatively identifies and champions continuous improvements through identification and implementing process improvements and undertaking of defined tasks or projects
What do I need?
You'll bring extensive HR generalist experience providing advice on people policies and workplace frameworks within a large, fast-paced corporate environment. You have demonstrated depth in applying policy to guide decision-making, with the ability to navigate complex people matters and tailor your approach to different working styles and business needs.
