Job Description

The Business Partnering team works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to ensure that Griffith University has a capable, engaged and productive workforce that is fit to deliver its strategic and operational goals.

The Senior Business Partner applies expertise and judgment to identify opportunities and address challenges with the aim of unleashing the potential of our workforce. This position will work across a diverse workforce and will be supported by a HR Business Partner as well as collaborating across the HR Division.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish working relationships with Executives and Senior Managers to provide best practice advice and guidance to support strategic workforce strategies
  • Provide strategic initiatives and advice on organisational structures, job analysis, succession planning, and talent management strategies
  • Providing contemporary and pragmatic HR advice to client groups and stakeholders
  • Negotiating and influencing positive outcomes to complex HR matters using comprehensive understanding of legislative requirements, data insights, and evidence-based knowledge
  • Management of workplace relations issues such as complaints, conflicts, grievances and misconduct
  • Support the development and delivery of change management initiatives and implementation
  • Support work areas and Finance to ensure the budget planning process and workforce profile are accurate and reflect current and future workforce needs
  • Leadership and development of team members

About you

  • Extensive experience as a HR Business Partner or Employee Relations Manager in a large and complex organisation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to influence decision making at a leadership level
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching leaders to drive strategic workforce outcomes
  • Proven commercial and financial acumen
  • High level analytical skills, experienced in making data informed decisions
  • An expert communicator, confident in presenting to diverse audiences
  • A comprehensive understanding of Australian employment legislation with the ability to interpret and advise on Enterprise Agreements and Award conditions
  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a relevant field

What we can offer
We have a full time continuing, and a fixed term 6-month position available (all applications will be considered for both), based at our Brisbane South (Nathan) campus.As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across our other campuses on occasion.

Salary

HEW 10 - Base - $147,057.74 + 17% super - Full package - $172,057.55.
