The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to step into a Lead role, with a strong focus on data centres and missioncritical facilities.

You'll be part of a high-performing, collaborative team, working across major projects locally and nationally. You will lead mechanical design from concept through to delivery, ensuring solutions are efficient, resilient, and future-ready.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services (HVAC) for data centres and other complex facilities
  • Take ownership of technical quality, coordination, and documentation across projects
  • Develop solutions that support high availability, redundancy, and energy efficiency in missioncritical environments
  • Work directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive successful outcomes
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Contribute to project planning, risk management, and commercial outcomes
  • Support the growth of WSP's data centre capability in WA and nationally

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • 8+ years' experience in building services consulting
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems and mechanical services design
  • Experience delivering complex or large-scale projects (data centre or missioncritical experience highly regarded)
  • Confident leading design packages and engaging with stakeholders
  • Chartered / CPEng (or working towards) highly regarded
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
