We're currently seeking a Deputy Project Manager to join our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive professional to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of consulting projects across Australia.
The opportunity
In this role, you'll work closely with Team Executives and Project Managers to help deliver high-quality project outcomes while ensuring financial and operational performance is maintained. You'll be instrumental in supporting project controls, financial tracking, and portfolio management activities that drive successful delivery.

What you'll do
- Support the successful delivery of a portfolio of EHS projects in line with best practice project management principles
- Partner with Project Managers to manage budgets, track costs, validate invoicing, and support project close-out
- Monitor project performance including margins and labour multipliers, identifying risks and opportunities
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports and insights for leadership
- Coordinate project reviews, track actions, and follow up on deliverables
- Identify and escalate project or portfolio "red flags" to support proactive management
- Support procurement processes and supplier engagement
- Contribute to time tracking, reporting, and invoicing activities
- Collaborate with Project Finance Specialists to maintain accurate financial forecasts
- Champion health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support initiatives that enhance client experience and project delivery outcomes
About you
You're a detail-oriented and systems-minded professional who brings structure and clarity to complex project environments. You're confident working across multiple priorities and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
You'll also bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- 2-6 years' experience in project coordination, project support, or similar roles
- Working knowledge of project management frameworks (e.g. PMI)
- Experience with project controls, cost tracking, or financial reporting
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Experience in consulting environments and/or PMP certification (desirable)
