Join our Mental Health Services Team at SALHN
Provide professional leadership and clinical expertise of an advanced level, while developing opportunities for research, education and training activities for the psychology profession within Mental Health Services.
About the role:
Reporting to the Allied Health Director - Mental Health, this role is integral to providing clinical leadership and governance to the Psychology profession across Mental Health Services within SALHN.
Duties for the role will include:
- Co-ordinating and leading professional, efficient and effective psychology services within SALHN Mental Health Services.
- Utilising expert clinical judgment to provide strategic advice to the Allied Health Director, Mental Health Services on clinical matters affecting psychology service planning decision, policy and workforce.
- Developing networks and collaborative peer support relationships with other clinical leads across SALHN Mental Health Services to maximise co- ordination, role effectiveness, and promote consistency in psychology workforce standards and service development initiatives.
- Participating in the strategic development of allied health and associated initiatives across Mental Health Services and SALHN Psychology
- Monitoring psychology services and practice standards across Mental Health Services to identify work standards (in terms of both quality and quantity expectations per FTE as appropriate for the clinical context), priorities, and provide recommendations regarding allocation of psychology resources.
- Planning and implementing supervision frameworks and structures, that provide a mechanism for audit, assurance and continuous improvement of competency of all Psychologists within Mental Health Services. This includes the provision of clinical supervision, support and mentorship to AHP3 Senior Psychologists, AHP4 Advanced Clinicians and other identified staff.
- Establishing own supervision relationship, mentorship and support relationships with peers.
About you:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia within an Endorsed Areas of Practice - Clinical Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and the facilitation of service planning to ensure clinical best practice underpins the development of psychology and Mental Health Services.
- Extensive clinical experience in collaborative development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of planned interventions for consumers with high or complex needs.
- Ability to act as the central point of contact for strategic consultation and liaison in relation to psychology service provision and to address clinical matters affecting psychology service planning decisions, policy and workforce.
- Demonstrated competencies to underpin successful contribution to both Mental Health Services' and Allied Health's clinical governance systems to ensure outcomes consistent with profession-specific, allied health, and Mental Health Services' standards, and organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, with staff and multidisciplinary clinical teams, and as part of a leadership team.
