Bring your WHS leadership skills to SALHN as the next Team Leader in Injury Prevention!

About the role:

Reporting to the WHS Prevention Manager, this role leads SALHN's WHS prevention team in delivering advisory and operational safety services across the network. You'll drive the development of WHS plans and priorities, manage the WHS audit and verification program, lead SafeWork SA reportable investigations, and support local management with hazard identification and rectification. Working in close partnership with the WHS Prevention Manager, Workforce staff, and SALHN Executives, you'll play a central role in embedding effective safety management systems that reduce work-related injury and workers compensation claims across the organisation.

  • Review and analyse incident, accident, and hazard reports across assigned divisional portfolios, providing managers and supervisors with timely, evidence-based advice on appropriate investigation and intervention approaches
  • Support the WHS Prevention Manager in developing organisational safety strategies designed to reduce workforce injury rates and subsequent workers compensation claims across the network
  • Oversee the effective day-to-day management of the WHS Prevention Team, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and supporting staff to deliver against programmed objectives within their allocated divisional services

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health Safety, Injury Management, or a related discipline, supported by extensive experience providing WHS and injury prevention advice within a large, complex organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and monitor injury prevention programs, with sound knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and the ability to interpret WHS legislation and injury management statistical data
  • Proven experience leading and managing a WHS team, with a track record of building high-performing, diverse teams and maximising individual and collective performance
  • High-level communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to explain complex legal, administrative, and medical matters clearly to a wide range of stakeholders across all levels of a large organisation
