This position offers an opportunity for further Anaesthetic training and in a contemporary setting supported by the latest equipment at a state of the facility. Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs and four procedure rooms and a state-of-the-art education and interactive SIM centre. The hospital is accredited with ANZCA registrar training.
The aim of this of this role is to produce a highly capable and confident general anaesthetist ready to transition to consultant practice.
What you'll be doing
The primary role of the Provisional Fellow - Anaesthesia is to assist in providing high level anaesthetic services within the Interventional Suite and the hospital Pain Service. The role also requires provision of perioperative services both in the preadmission clinic and on the wards. Under direction and supervision appropriate to ANZCA guidelines the Provisional Fellow will provide care and services to secure optimal health outcomes. There is an expectation that this position will contribute to the departmental after-hours and on-call roster including nights and weekends.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
- Advanced ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services
- Advanced ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
- Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
- Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, and willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff
- Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research projects
