Queanbeyan South Public School provides a dynamic and inclusive educational environment for 441 students located close to the border of the Australian Capital Territory. Students represent 35 cultural backgrounds with 27% identifying as Aboriginal. The school has four MultiCategorical (MC) district supported learning classes and one district Opportunity Class (OC) for High Potential, Gifted Education students.
The school has an extensive school kitchen program for Year 3-6 students. In recent years major educational initiatives at QSPS have focused on Equity, Student Growth and Attainment in Reading and Numeracy, Explicit Teaching, Aboriginal Education, High Potential Gifted Education, student wellbeing and performing arts. A School Administration Officer is responsible to the Principal for assisting in a range of school, classroom and office activities e.g. record keeping, bookkeeping and other clerical duties; reception; operating and maintaining classroom and office equipment; purchasing; and preparing and maintaining stock and learning/resource materials.
This position will include 0.2 FTE within Queanbeyan South Public School's preschool, and the remaining 0.622 FTE in the Kindergarten to Year 6 Primary School.
Anticipation of entry of duty date will need to be negotiated with the hiring manager.
