Maintenance Gardener

The Opportunity

Fountain Court Retirement Living is a vibrant retirement community in Burwood, known for its welcoming atmosphere and highquality service. As a Maintenance Gardener, you will be play an important role within the community, ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe, well maintained and visually appealing. You’ll take care of daytoday gardening and grounds maintenance tasks while engaging positively with residents. This role is ideal for someone with strong gardening experience who is friendly, proactive, and enjoys a varied, handson role.

This is a permanent part-time position working Thursday and Friday (7am-4pm)

Your Impact

• Strong practical experience in gardening and grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching and green waste management
• The ability to maintain safe, welcoming community spaces through consistent care and upkeep
• An understanding of irrigation systems and external sprinklers, including routine checks and basic upkeep
• The ability to work autonomously, managing scheduled tasks while responding to daytoday gardening needs
• Confidence building strong relationships with residents and engaging positively as part of daily work
• Flexibility to manage planned maintenance and ad hoc tasks as required

What you'll bring

• Gardening or grounds experience, with a strong sense of pride and ownership in your work
• A proactive, solutionsfocused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a residentfriendly way
• A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work
• A valid driver’s licence (essential)
• Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
