Senior Manager, Renewable and Carbon Procurement

A Snapshot

As Senior Manager, Renewables & Carbon Procurement based in Melbourne, you will report to the Director, Energy & Utility and work closely with the rest of the Energy and Technology team across the Asia Pacific region, making your mark in a number of ways:

  • You will shape and implement our energy strategy to support AirTrunk's continued growth
  • You will lead the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of renewable energy PPAs and carbon procurement for compliance market
  • You will be in a commercially focused role responsible for turning market opportunities into executed transactions that support our clean energy targets, regulatory obligations, and long-term cost objectives

Your Day-to-Day

Renewable Energy Procurement

  • Source renewable energy opportunities (solar, wind, hybrid, storage-linked projects) across APAC markets
  • Build and manage relationships with developers, retailers, brokers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Lead RFPs and bilateral negotiations for renewable offtake
  • Structure and negotiate PPAs (physical, virtual, sleeved, portfolio structures)
  • Drive transactions from term sheet through contract signature

Carbon Procurement

  • Source and contract International Carbon Credits (ICC) in Singapore
  • Evaluate supply credibility, eligibility rules, and delivery risk
  • Negotiate carbon supply agreements and manage price and volume exposure

Commercial & Market Analysis

  • Analyse pricing, market benchmarks, and commercial risks for both PPAs and carbon instruments
  • Support internal approvals through financial modelling and business case development
  • Work closely with legal, finance, risk, and sustainability teams to close potential deals

Requirements

  • Has a relevant degree in Energy, Engineering, Business or a related field
  • Min. 5 years of relevant working experience with proven experience in negotiating and executing PPAs and/or carbon contracts
  • Background in renewable energy markets, carbon markets, energy trading, or project development
  • Strong in communication, commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills
  • Understanding of renewable project economics and key PPA risk drivers
  • Familiarity with compliance carbon frameworks and regulated credit mechanisms (especially in the context of Singapore)
  • Ability to manage multiple live transactions in fast-moving markets
