About the Role
We are seeking motivated individuals with exceptional interpersonal skills to provide out-of-hours support and front-of-house service within University Student Residences. These roles play a key part in supporting the wellbeing, safety and overall operations of residential communities during evenings, overnight periods and weekends.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide reception and administrative support during out-of-hours operations
- Respond to resident enquiries, complaints and welfare concerns
- Conduct regular internal and external rounds to identify operational, maintenance, WHS and conduct issues
- Act as first responder to incidents and ensure appropriate reporting and follow-up actions
About the Team
The Community Assistants form part of the Student Residences team, supporting a safe, inclusive and well-functioning residential community. Working closely with colleagues across accommodation services, the team ensures consistent support and service delivery outside standard business hours.
What You'll Bring
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse community
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, security, youth work, education or similar environments
- Ability to think on your feet and respond effectively to incidents or emerging situations
- Availability to work overnight mid-week shifts and weekends

Role Details
- Continuing | Part-time (21 hours per week) - 4 positions available
- Level 3/4 | $67,214 - $85,682 (pro-rated) + 17% superannuation
- Location: Wollongong
- Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available
- Working with Children and National Police Checks required

These positions operate on rostered shifts ranging from four (4) to ten (10) hours, covering:
- 6:00pm to 8:00am Monday to Friday
- 24-hour coverage on weekends
Potential for increased hours, including full-time opportunities, as operational needs evolve.
