About the Role

The Field Education Coordinator plays a central role in delivering high quality Social Work field education across the Wollongong, Liverpool and Shoalhaven regions. You will coordinate the full lifecycle of student placements, build strong partnerships with agencies, and ensure the program meets accreditation, legislative and professional standards. Your work directly shapes the professional readiness and success of future Social Workers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end to end field education operations - including pre placement interviews, supervision arrangements, liaison visits and performance monitoring
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships - across government and non government agencies
  • Support students, supervisors and field educators - providing guidance, addressing issues and facilitating debriefing sessions
  • Contribute to teaching and program quality - including integration seminars, workshops, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives

About the Team

This role sits within the School of Social Sciences, part of the Faculty of Arts, Society and Business, a diverse academic community committed to developing graduates who think critically, act creatively and engage globally. You'll work closely with the Director of Social Work Placements, academic staff, professional staff and partner organisations to deliver a robust, student-centered field education program across multiple campuses.

What You'll Bring

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Bachelor or Master Qualifying) with post qualifying experience
  • Experience supervising Social Work students in practice settings
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem solving capability, with the ability to manage sensitive matters
  • High level organisational and analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems

Role Details

  • Employment type Continuing | Part-time (14 hours per week, worked Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
  • Level 6/7: $94,998 - $117,633 (pro-rated) + 17% Superannuation
  • Position Description
  • Location: Wollongong & Liverpool Campus / Hybrid
  • Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
