Season: Immediate start to late September

This is a hands-on alpine mechanical role at the core of Perisher's winter operations. You'll be responsible for keeping a diverse and critical fleet running safely and reliably in one of Australia's most challenging environments.
From snowmobiles and oversnow vehicles to buses, trucks, and heavy plant equipment, you'll work across a wide variety of machinery that directly supports guest access, resort operations, and mountain safety.
This is a physically demanding, fast-paced role in extreme conditions - and it is not for everyone. It suits qualified mechanics who thrive in problem-solving environments, enjoy variety, and can stay calm and capable when the pressure is on.
What You'll Be Doing
- Service, maintain, and repair a diverse fleet including trucks, buses, 4WDs, and oversnow vehicles
- Perform preventative maintenance to maximise safety, uptime, and reliability
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Support workshop operations across Smiggin Holes and Guthega
- Work collaboratively in a high-demand alpine environment where every machine matters
What You'll Bring
- Trade qualification in Mechanical discipline (Heavy Vehicle, Diesel, Plant or equivalent)
- Current Class C Driver's Licence (HR preferred)
- Experience servicing and repairing mechanical equipment or heavy vehicles
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe working practices
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Flexible, resilient, and able to work rotating shifts in alpine conditions
