UGL's Fuels and Energy business is seeking a highly skilled and safety focused Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Brisbane to work on tank maintenance at our sites. This is a permanent position and will form an integral part of successful delivery across our portfolio. In this role you will be performing general day to day maintenance tasks and contributing to project work.
About the role
Fit mechanical plant (pumps, valves, pipework, rotating equipment etc.)
Fabricate steel structures (platforms, supports, pipework, etc.)
Read and interpret drawings supplied by a supervisor or client representative.
Follow written and/or verbal instructions provided by a supervisor client's representative.
Care and maintain tools and equipment necessary to carry out all tasks.
Assist immediate contacts with technical knowledge for design and fabrication issues.
Maintain workshop and vehicle cleanliness.
Complete good quality, accurate and quality Works that comply with appropriate UGL management system processes and ensure that actual costs equal estimated costs.
Work closely with Supervisor to manage the risk with Work Packages, ensuring time lines are met, costs are reduced and streamlined and that the contract terms and conditions reflect company policy
To be considered for the role, you will hold the following skills and experience:
Australian recognised Trade Qualification - Mechanical Fitter
Construction Industry Induction (blue / white card)
Experience working in Oil & Gas
Current Drivers Licence
Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to lead, plan and execute works
Work to a high standard and be passionate about what you do
Demonstrated leadership qualities in the application of safe systems of work
Desirable skills and experience include:
Trade Cert
Confined Space Entry
Work at Heights
High Risk Work Licence (EWP, LF)
Effective verbal and written communication capability.
