Senior Network Engineer - Sydney, Australia

Interested in supporting a converged network that connects more than 8,000 users globally? Join us as a Senior Network Engineer based in Sydney, Australia.
As part of the Network, Identity, and Security team, you will support and maintain the corporate network, along with the services and devices that protect it. You will build solutions and solve technical problems-small and large-ranging from business-as-usual operations and fault finding to documentation, training, and incident management.
A typical work week may include transitioning to a new ISP provider in a remote office, troubleshooting routing/switching or Wi-Fi issues, resolving remote access challenges, supporting new office builds and deployments, and collaborating with the team to develop network standards and documentation. You will identify improvement opportunities, refine policies and procedures, and help build a robust network infrastructure that scales efficiently.

What You'll Bring

Essential experience:
  • 5+ years working with converged corporate and campus networks
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, WLAN, WAN, security, and telephony
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, STP, IPSEC, VSS, and 802.11 standards
  • Experience supporting remote access solutions (e.g. VPN technologies)
  • Experience supporting large campus network infrastructures
  • Expertise in network operations including automation, monitoring, and incident response
  • Solid understanding of network and internet security
Technical skills:
  • Experience with networking tools including routers, switches, WAPs, WLCs, firewalls, and identity services
  • Familiarity with Juniper infrastructure (e.g. SRX firewalls and Junos Space)
  • Strong documentation skills, including troubleshooting runbooks and as-built documentation
Working style:
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in a global, remote environment
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Windows Active Directory
  • Automation and tooling experience (Python, Ansible, Bash, Git)
  • Exposure to cloud and virtualisation technologies (AWS, VMware)
  • Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks in network environments
  • Advanced certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP

Responsibilities

  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades (firmware, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations)
  • Collaborate with ISPs to provision new services and troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct office disaster recovery (DR) tests
  • Support day-to-day operations of the enterprise network
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of network performance, reliability, and security
