About the Role

This is a fantastic part time opportunity to join Melbourne Water as the Edithvale Water Literacy Education Coordinator and help bring Melbourne's water story to life for schools, community groups, and visitors.

In this role, you'll coordinate and support the delivery of engaging water literacy education programs across Melbourne Water sites, including the Western Treatment Plant and Edithvale-Seaford Wetland Education Centre. You'll play a key role in helping people understand the urban and natural water cycle, the importance of sustainable water management, and the role Melbourne Water plays in supporting a liveable and resilient city.

Based at the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands Education Centres this role combines program coordination, education delivery, stakeholder support, and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate scheduling and delivery of water literacy education programs across sites, including the Western Treatment Plant (WTP) andEdithvale-Seaford Wetland Education Centre (ESWEC).
  • Deliver high-quality in-person and digital education programs, tours, and events.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of education content, learning experiences, and delivery approaches.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and support for casual educators and facilitators.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with schools, community groups, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support evaluation and reporting of program outcomes, including capturing participant feedback and insights.
  • Respond to community enquiries and represent Melbourne Water in engagements.
  • Assistwith planning andlogisticsfor events, programs, and stakeholder activities.

It is a great part time opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, explaining complex ideas in simple and engaging ways, and coordinating the details that help programs run smoothly.

About you:

You'll be organised, confident communicating with different audiences, and comfortable adapting your delivery style to suit students, teachers, community members, and visitors. You'll enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you'll bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to coordinating programs and supporting others.

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:

  • Experience delivering education programs, tours, events, or community engagement activities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical or complex information clearly.
  • Good organisational skills, with experience coordinating schedules, activities, resources, or small programs.
  • An interest in water, sustainability, environmental education, science, or community learning.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, flexible and initiative-taking approach.
  • Confidence using digital tools or interactive learning technologies, or a willingness to learn.
  • Relevant studies or equivalent experience in education, science, environment, or a related field.

A current a medical, Working with Children Check and current driver's licence are required. First Aid qualifications are desirable.
