About the Role
The Associate Director, Business Intelligence and Information Management provides strategic leadership and oversight of the District's business intelligence, analytics, information management and performance reporting functions. The role is responsible for establishing strategic direction, governance frameworks and quality assurance processes that ensure data, information and reporting assets are accurate, reliable, compliant and aligned with organisational and NSW Health priorities.
Leading a multidisciplinary team, the Associate Director oversees the delivery of high-quality analytics, performance reporting and information management services that support evidence-based decision making, service planning, operational performance and continuous improvement across the organisation. The position works closely with executive leaders, clinical and corporate stakeholders, NSW Health agencies and external partners to build strong collaborative relationships, drive innovation and strengthen organisational capability in analytics and information management.
The role provides expert advice on business intelligence strategy, data governance, information management and reporting, while proactively identifying and managing risks relating to data quality, information integrity and reporting capability. Through effective leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic oversight, the Associate Director ensures that business intelligence and information management services support the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare and contribute to improved patient and organisational outcomes.
This is a Full Time Permanent role based within the Mid North Coast Local Health District with offices based in Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
About You
You will bring extensive leadership experience in business intelligence, information management and performance reporting, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and a strong track record delivering strategic analytics and reporting functions within complex healthcare environments. You will have demonstrated expertise in developing and leading business intelligence, reporting and information management services that provide meaningful insights, support organisational performance monitoring and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
You will possess a comprehensive understanding of NSW Health legislation, policies and frameworks relating to performance reporting, records and information management, data governance and analytics, together with significant experience working with major health information systems and datasets. You will have had successfully led the implementation and management of business intelligence and analytics solutions across both on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring the secure and effective management of sensitive and confidential information. A highly effective leader, do you have proven experience setting strategic direction, managing resources, prioritising competing demands and delivering high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes and have demonstrated expertise in the production, analysis, visualisation and governance of health information, ensuring reporting outputs meet quality, compliance and legislative requirements while supporting evidence-based decision making.
Are you recognised for your outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement and change management skills, with a proven ability to build productive relationships across executive, clinical, operational and external stakeholder groups. Have you successfully led multidisciplinary teams, managed performance, risks and organisational change, and fostered a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement along with a combination of strategic leadership, technical expertise and commitment to high quality health outcomes positions them strongly to lead the Business Intelligence and Information Management function and support the District's strategic priorities.
