The Role
The Associate role's main areas of responsibility are:
Lead and coordinate the execution of new credit investments across commercial real estate credit opportunities, from indicative term sheet through to credit approval, documentation, satisfaction of conditions precedent and financial close.
Undertake detailed credit analysis and due diligence across a diverse range of real estate debt opportunities, with a particular focus on real asset and commercial real estate debt, including residential, commercial, industrial, retail, build-to-rent, and specialised asset classes.
Provide financial analysis, feasibility modelling, and transaction modelling to support credit assessments, including sensitivity analysis
Build and manage relationships with borrowers, originators, banks, brokers, lawyers, valuers and other market participants, and represent the team professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Background and Experience
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in credit, debt or real estate finance, gained at a non-bank financier, bank lending or institutional debt team, investment bank, fund manager, private credit firm or property financier.
Strong transaction negotiation and execution experience and leadership, including hands-on involvement in due diligence and legal documentation.
Excellent financial modelling, feasibility and cash flow analysis skills, and a sound understanding of credit structuring, security and capital structure dynamics.
Sound commercial judgement and the ability to identify, frame and structure key risks and mitigants under transaction timeframes.
Strong familiarity with traditional property financing including: Senior/Stretch development financing, mezzanine development financing, income producing assets financing and land financing
A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, commerce, business, law, property or a related discipline; CFA or equivalent progress viewed favourably but not essential
Demonstrated use of AI-assisted workflows to improve the speed and quality of credit work.
