The Commercial Finance Analyst will support pricing strategy, commercial deal structuring and business analytics across Global Commercial Services (GCS) and International Card Services (ICS) within the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with Sales, Account Development and Pricing leadership, the analyst will provide financial modelling, pricing recommendations and strategic insights that help drive profitable growth.

This role offers exposure to complex local, regional and global client opportunities and provides an excellent platform for developing expertise in commercial strategy, pricing analytics and financial decision support.

Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, consulting, banking, corporate finance or a related analytical field.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation development capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate actionable business insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, cards, fintech or consulting.
  • Knowledge of pricing methodologies, profitability modelling or revenue management.
  • Understanding of commercial card economics and corporate payments.
  • Support the development of pricing recommendations for commercial card opportunities across APAC markets.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Development teams to structure client proposals that balance growth and profitability objectives.
  • Analyze pricing performance, portfolio trends and client economics to identify business opportunities and risks.
  • Develop competitive intelligence and market analysis to support pricing decisions.
  • Prepare presentations and recommendations for senior leaders and key business stakeholders.
  • Support the execution and governance of pricing approvals and commercial deal processes.
  • Partner with Contracts, Risk, Controllership and other cross-functional teams to implement commercial agreements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing tools, reporting and analytical processes through automation and innovation.
  • Contribute to strategic projects and ad hoc analyses supporting business growth initiatives.
