Our Water Division is experiencing significant growth, creating an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader, Treatment (Electrical) to join our New South Wales team based in Sydney. In this role, you will lead a specialist multidisciplinary team delivering water and wastewater treatment projects, strengthen technical capability, support the development of emerging engineers, and ensure the delivery of highquality, reliable outcomes for communities across New South Wales.

A day in the life of a Team Leader, Treatment (Electrical) could look like:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers delivering exciting and complex treatment projects within a consulting environment.

  • Foster a fun, successoriented, collaborative, and inclusive environment that reflects our core values and supports the strategic direction of the business through direct interactions with team members and project work.

  • Identify and capitalise on engaging work opportunities for the team that support engagement and career development through effective networking, business development, delegation, and backlog development.

  • Support team members to achieve their career goals with a clear and engaging development plan as well as support to enact the plan.

  • Lead the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment input, career development, engagement, succession planning, coaching, mentoring, diversity and inclusion, and leadership growth.

  • Lead the team's Health, Safety & Wellbeing performance through example, including modelling of best-practice approach to safety, supporting and rewarding team members who improve safety culture and encourage proactive risk management.

  • Partner with Team Leaders locally and across regions to strengthen collaboration, resource sharing, and consistency across the BC.

  • Support the Group Leader in resourcing management, including identifying resourcing constraints and gaps, monitoring team performance and delivery outcomes.

To be successful for this role you'll present:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical or equivalent) with CPEng or eligibility to obtain it.

  • Electrical design expertise - Minimum 7 years' electrical technical experience in water and wastewater treatment, including conceptual and detailed design of treatment processes, equipment, and plant upgrades.

  • Drive electrical technical excellence - provide senior electrical leadership across treatment process design, HV/LV distribution, MCCs, switchboards, instrumentation, controls, functional descriptions, and integration with mechanical and process systems.

  • Team and project delivery - Strong teamwork skills with experience leading small engineering teams to deliver treatmentfocused work packages within complex, multidisciplinary projects.

  • Oversee design quality - Ensure electrical deliverables meet safety, operability, maintainability and compliance requirements, including technical assurance, design reviews, and coordination with process, civil and mechanical teams.

  • People-centric leadership - Proven ability to build and lead teams locally, across regional teams, and broader Stantec service lines to support integrated project delivery, our strong people-focused culture and the success of individuals and teams.

  • Multidisciplinary leadership - Exceptional project and technical leadership capability, including managing subcontractors, guiding multidisciplinary design teams, and ensuring coordinated delivery.

  • Problem solving and negotiation - Highly developed problemsolving and negotiation skills to resolve technical, commercial, and delivery challenges.

  • D&C delivery experience - Strong understanding of D&C and alternative delivery models, particularly within treatment plant design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation.
