Requirements

  • Previous underground mining experience in a Service Crew role
  • Experience installing underground mine services
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Strong understanding of safety and underground procedures
  • Valid manual driver's licence
  • Working at Heights and other relevant tickets (desirable)
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and production goals
  • Ability to work FIFO roster (e.g. 2/2 or site-specific roster)

Role Overview
Service Crew operators are required to support underground mining operations at Scotia Mine. This is a hands-on role assisting with development activities, services installation, and general mine support to ensure safe and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain underground services including ventilation, water, and air lines
  • Deliver materials, explosives, and consumables to headings
  • Set up and relocate pumps, sumps, and reticulation systems
  • Assist with ground support installation including mesh and bolts
  • Conduct secondary tasks such as scaling and clean-up duties
  • Operate light vehicles and auxiliary equipment underground
  • Perform pre-start checks and basic maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain housekeeping standards across all work areas
  • Complete shift reports and safety documentation
  • Identify and report hazards, incidents, and equipment defects
