Requirements

  • Experience in a Safety and Training role within underground mining
  • Strong understanding of mining safety systems and compliance requirements
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
  • Experience using learning management or training systems
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively across all levels
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work FIFO roster (e.g. 2/2 or 8/6)

Role Overview
An experienced Safety and Training Coordinator is required to support underground mining operations by driving safety performance and workforce capability. This role is responsible for coordinating training, ensuring compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain site training systems and compliance records
  • Schedule and track mandatory training, VOCs, and refresher requirements
  • Deliver site inductions and support onboarding processes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs
  • Support supervisors with competency management and workforce development
  • Monitor compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and safety initiatives
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate training matrices and documentation
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments
