Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to join our growing Government Services portfolio in Victoria, supporting a newly established contract across a diverse leased property network.

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll work closely with clients, landlords, property managers, contractors, and internal teams to help create safe, compliant, and welcoming environments for building occupants. You'll support a team of Facilities Managers while coordinating operational activities across a varied property portfolio.

This new position is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, finding practical solutions, embracing technology, and contributing to continuous improvement across a dynamic portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and guide a team of Facilities Managers across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and service delivery across leased properties.
  • Build productive relationships with landlords, managing agents, contractors, and client stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections to support safety, compliance, and building performance.
  • Coordinate tenancy works, minor projects, relocations, and make-good activities.
  • Support contractor engagement, inductions, permits, and compliance requirements.
  • Utilise BGIS digital platforms to manage work orders, reporting, and service outcomes.
  • Prepare operational reports, monitor KPIs, and contribute to budget planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Experience in facilities management across leased, commercial, or multi-site property portfolios.
  • Understanding of landlord liaison, lease obligations, and building services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities.
  • Confidence using FM technology platforms and digital work order systems.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience within government, commercial property, or large portfolio environments.
  • Knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring facilities management teams.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.

Workplace Flexibility

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days based in our Melbourne CBD office and two days working from home. Occasional additional hours and visits across the client portfolio may be required to support operational needs.
