The Team and Role
As an analyst within the Superannuation teams, you will perform prudential supervision and risk assess a defined group of regulated entities to achieve APRA's purpose of ensuring a stable, competitive and efficient financial system.
You are responsible for identifying and investigating prudential risks and issues, in collaboration with other supervision and specialist risk teams, and forming and executing on strategy to rectify them. You are responsible for engaging regulated entities, with a view to influencing approach to risk management.
The team aspire to be innovative in the way they supervise, transparent in the way they engage, and dynamic in their response to change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing assessments of the quality of the supervised organisation's governance, strategy and risk management frameworks within the realm of financial and non-financial risk;
- Leading the execution of Prudential Engagements with supervised organisations by preparing scopes, agendas, briefings and actively participating in entity engagements as required;
- Adapt style and process of supervision depending on the supervised organisations and be flexible to deal with the difference in approach; and
- Continual professional development across a range of financial/non-financial risk classes to support high-quality analysis and risk assessment of regulated entities.
About you:
- A naturally inquisitive mindset complemented by strong analytical, investigative and research skills;
- Excellent organisational, self and priority management skills;
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
- Experience in risk management and oversight within the realm of financial or non-financial risk (note: experience in investment risk highly desirable);
- Knowledge of the superannuation industry (highly desirable);
- Up to date with financial market trends; and
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
