Flexible engagement options (contract or permanent, depending on fit)
Sydney
We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to lead a Snowflake implementation engagement from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys designing scalable data platforms, working closely with stakeholders, and turning complex data requirements into production-ready solutions.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the architecture, building robust pipelines, and setting best practices for a modern Snowflake-based data environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the end-to-end Snowflake implementation, from initial design through to production rollout
- Design and build scalable data warehouse/lakehouse architectures on Snowflake
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Matillion, or similar
- Integrate data from multiple sources (APIs, SaaS platforms, databases, cloud storage)
- Implement data modelling, performance optimisation, and cost controls within Snowflake
- Establish best practices around data quality, governance, security, and access controls
- Collaborate closely with analytics, product, and business stakeholders to understand requirements
- Document architecture, data models, and implementation decisions
What we’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on experience delivering Snowflake implementations (greenfield or major migrations)
- Solid background as a Data Engineer (typically 4+ years)
- Deep experience with SQL and strong proficiency in Python
- Experience designing data models for analytics and reporting use cases
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools (dbt, Airflow, CI/CD for data, etc.)
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions
- Consulting, project-based, or delivery-focused experience is a strong plus
Nice to Have:
- Experience migrating from legacy data warehouses to Snowflake
- Exposure to data governance, privacy, or regulated environments
- Experience setting up monitoring, observability, and cost optimisation in Snowflake
Why work with us?
- Opportunity to own and shape a Snowflake implementation end-to-end
- Work on a modern, cloud-first data platform
- High-impact engagement with clear outcomes and visibility
- Flexible engagement options (contract or permanent, depending on fit)
