Influence CHPP performance at scale-deliver reliability improvements across critical fixed plant and processing systems.

At Coronado Global Resources, the Curragh Complex is one of Queensland's largest and most technically diverse mining operations, offering the opportunity to work on critical CHPP assets that directly influence production performance. Supporting a large-scale operation that processes millions of tonnes of coal annually, the CHPP relies on a broad range of fixed plant equipment including conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, electrical systems and process control infrastructure.

What You'll Do

As a CHPP Reliability Engineer, you'll play a key role in improving asset performance, increasing plant availability and driving continuous improvement across a complex fixed plant environment. Working closely with maintenance, operations and engineering teams, you'll utilise condition monitoring technologies, reliability-centred maintenance principles and failure analysis techniques to identify opportunities, reduce downtime and optimise maintenance strategies. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a role where your work has a direct impact on reliability, plant performance and operational outcomes across one of Queensland's leading mining operations.

Your role will be interesting and varied and will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of reliability improvement initiatives to improve the CHPP performance.
  • Apply reliability-cantered maintenance (RCM) and defect elimination methodologies to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilise condition monitoring tools such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis to deliver insights that support proactive maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and effective asset management practices.
  • Track and analyse key performance metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise and reliability input throughout the project lifecycle, including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Electrical, Process, Mechanical or related Engineering field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering within mining or fixed plant environments.
  • Strong expertise in failure analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with condition monitoring and reliability analysis
  • Experience in condition monitoring techniques and reliability analysis tools (e.g. vibration analysis, oil analysis).
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

What we offer

  • Relocation support and accommodation options: Relocate to Blackwater with assistance provided, including access to subsidised housing, private units, family homes or camp accommodation, depending on your circumstances.
  • Monday to Friday lifestyle: Enjoy a stable residential or DIDO roster that supports work-life balance while remaining connected to site operations.
