What's the role?
The Financial Crime Surveillance (FCS) team is part of Westpac's Risk Division and is responsible for detecting, deterring and fighting financial crime. This role is part of the first line of defence for financial crime related risks such as Know Your Customer and Foreign Tax Operations.
As a Risk Analyst in Foreign Tax, you will identify, assess and manage risks associated with a bank's international tax obligations - particularly FATCA, CRS and other crossborder reporting requirements, ensuring we comply with global tax laws, maintain accurate client tax data, and mitigate regulatory, operational and financial risk. You'll manage cases assigned by leaders, engage with customers and internal stakeholders through inbound and outbound calls, and assess information to support safe and compliant decisions.
What do I need?
- Strong customer service experience including call handling preferred
- Experience within banking or financial services (desirable)
- Investigative mindset and strong analytical skills or show a willingness to learn
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own case load
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
- Computer literate and proficient with the ability to navigate multiple systems with ease
