As a Capital Project Engineer, you'll lead the delivery of engineering and infrastructure projects across our manufacturing sites, managing everything from equipment upgrades and production line improvements through to factory infrastructure and utilities projects.
Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality and external contractors, you'll take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to accelerate their development, gain exposure to multimillion-dollar projects, and build a pathway towards senior project engineering and project management roles.
Key Accountabilities
Manage capital projects from scoping and planning through to execution, commissioning and operational handover
Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to agreed scope
Coordinate contractors, suppliers and engineering partners throughout project delivery
Develop project schedules, budgets, business cases and progress reports
Partner with site Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Quality teams to ensure successful project outcomes
Support engineering design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs and safety-in-design activities
Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, GMP requirements, HACCP principles and site safety systems
Manage project documentation, procurement activities and equipment specifications
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency gains
Build strong stakeholder relationships across site and corporate teams
About You
You are a proactive and solutions-focused engineer who enjoys seeing projects come to life in a manufacturing environment. You take ownership, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and can work independently to drive outcomes.
We're looking for:
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
1-5 years' engineering experience within FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environments
Exposure to capital projects, process improvements or manufacturing upgrades
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
Experience working cross-functionally with operations, maintenance and contractor teams
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, quality and operational excellence
Experience in Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement Engineering or Maintenance Engineering with project exposure will be highly regarded.
