Exciting opportunity exists to join a dedicated Team of Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Health Workers who are integral to supporting the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients of Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. The Aboriginal Liaison Officer positions sit within the Social Work Department at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital and work closely with social work staff to support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander inpatients and outpatients of the hospital.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- In this role being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement. Tell us about your mob and connection to culture?
- Certificate III in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or relevant qualification OR willingness to complete and to undertake further training as identified.
- Demonstrated understanding of the range of factors that have influenced the health status of Aboriginal communities.
- Ability to undertake health/social needs assessments that demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Aboriginal culture and social issues.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally responsive care coordination or case management services to Aboriginal clients.

Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisations to support access to services and develop referral pathways.
