The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for the ongoing support and development of our Nursing staff in our General Surgical/Medical Ward 5D. This is an outstanding opportunity to grow your career at Northern Beaches Hospital.

Where you'll be working


Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services and spital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, a state-of-the-art theatres complex, world-class education centre, and excellent staff facilities including cafe and secure on site car parking. From cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery to luxury maternity and excellent emergency care, Northern Beaches Hospital has a wide range of services that can help you build a healthcare career in your chosen field. In Ward 5D, you will see a mix of medical and surgical cases in a 30 bed ward.

What you'll be doing
A Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) in is responsible for supporting and developing nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The role focuses on delivering education and training, assessing clinical competencies, and providing hands-on support in the clinical environment. CNEs mentor new graduates and students, help nurses build confidence and skills, and ensure compliance with NSW Health policies and standards. They also contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying learning gaps and implementing evidence-based education to enhance patient outcomes.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse and holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  2. Advanced clinical competence and proven experience in clinical supervision
  3. Effective presentation skills, computer literacy and understanding of hospital information systems.
  4. Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  6. Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care
