Must have previous operating suite instrument and circulating nurse experience; desirable experience in any of these specialties would be an advantage: orthopaedics, neurosurgery, ENT, plastics and general surgery.

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse Scrub/Scout, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and individualised perioperative care. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patients through their surgical experience while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.

Deliver quality, person-centred nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures

Scrub and scout across a range of specialties while supporting efficient theatre operations

Assess patient needs, advocate for patients and coordinate appropriate care throughout their surgical journey

Respond effectively to changing clinical situations and contribute to positive patient outcomes

Provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to students and other clinical staff as required

Essential Criteria:

Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

1. Demonstrated recent experience with the scrubs/scout role in an operating suite

2. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work

3. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centered care

4. Demonstrated effective communication skills- written and verbal

5. Demonstrated commitment to professional development

6. Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team
