About the role
The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for turnkey delivery for all types of fibre builds across our national network. This includes managing scope, WHS, schedule, budget, quality, progress updates, and risk from initiation through delivery. Reporting to the Team leader, you will communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners as required.
What you'll be responsible for
- Own endtoend project delivery of fibre projects (OSP/ISP/Cutover/Migration), from initiation and detailed design through build, test, handover and project closure and documentation and record finalisation.
- Plan and control scope, schedule, cost and quality, applying PMP/PRINCE2, with clear stage gates, change control, and dependency management.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors (civil, haul, splice/test) and direct field activities, resolving technical and design queries and access/permit constraints to keep builds moving.
- Ensure WHSEQ requirements, ensure compliance with fibre engineering standards, contracts, utility codes and regulatory obligations to protect people and network integrity.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder communications.
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained to FES standards, including construction plans, risk and issue registers, design markups/redlines, method statements, and asbuilt records, and verify that all GIS systems are accurately updated to support compliant project handover, project closure and finance finalisation.
- Report progress and performance—milestones, risks, issues and dependencies—providing accurate status to leadership and customers, with datadriven corrective actions.
- Uplift delivery capability by coaching project team members and contributing to continuous improvement of processes, systems and tools across Planning, Design and Construction.
- Adhere to security requirements for Government customers and the VAS network, ensuring controlled handling of artefacts and site activities.

- Other ad hoc duties as assigned to meet business objectives and organization strategy.
What you'll bring to the role
- 5+ years for Project Manager Fibre construction experience (civil, pit & pipe, haul, splice, test/commission),
- Formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2).
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, and Project Management
- Experience and knowledge in Telecommunications fibre network deployment. (Civil construction will be highly regarded)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in Project management running complex delivery solutions.
- Organisation skills and the ability to manage and meet competing deadlines.
- Confident managing stakeholders at all levels and negotiate or navigate to seek resolution
- Strong business acumen to liaise with all areas of the business
- Understanding Telecommunications industry regulations. (Telco Act)
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation and LGA regulations.
