AeroPM is continuing to grow, and we are seeking a highly organised, personable and proactive professional to join our team as a Capture & Operations Manager (Defence).


This is a key role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings strong attention to detail along with prior Defence experience.

AeroPM is a veteran-owned, female-owned and operated, award-winning specialist services firm supporting the Defence sector.


The majority of our team is embedded with Defence clients across Australia, while our Canberra-based headquarters supports delivery through a small, agile and collaborative business team.

About the Role


This full-time position is based in our Barton office and works closely with the CEO and General Manager.


Reporting to the CEO, you will lead AeroPM's opportunity capture and bid activities while overseeing key operational and compliance functions. You will manage the end-to-end capture process, coordinate competitive tender submissions, maintain resource readiness, and support business development initiatives across Defence and government sectors.


The successful candidate will have experience in Defence, APS, or Defence industry contracting, with strong skills in bid management, stakeholder engagement, business operations, and compliance. Strong Defence acumen is essential.



Key Responsibilities


  • Managing capture opportunities and tender submissions.
  • Maintaining candidate and resource readiness databases.
  • Supporting operational business functions and activities.
  • Driving business development and client engagement activities.
  • Supporting employee engagement, retention, and company culture initiatives.


About You


You are a high-performing professional who is organised, reliable, and confident engaging with senior stakeholders. You bring a strong understanding of Defence environments and are comfortable balancing relationship management with detailed contract responsibilities.


Essential Requirements


  • Strong Defence acumen
  • Bachelor degree
  • Demonstrated high performer
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational capability
  • Previous experience working in the Defence sector
  • Australian citizenship
  • Ability to work full-time from our Barton office
  • Willingness to travel locally for client meetings (own vehicle required)
  • Alignment with AeroPM's values of Teamwork, Excellence and Dedication



Highly Desirable


  • Active or reinstatable NV1 security clearance
  • Experience as an above-the-line contractor
